Our Backpack ministry continues throughout the school year. With our local public schools chaning to a "year round" school model, we run this mission throughout the year. Backpack provides bags full of food to children in need in our local community. These are dropped off by volunteers to the schools at the end of the week for the student to be able to take it home at the end of the week. We accept donations of indivdually wrapped snacks (poptarts, pudding, chips, etc.). Our Basket Auction in the spring proceeds go to fund our Backpack Ministry. 

We've partnered with Pumpkin Patch USA for over 25 years to host one of the most visited pumpkin patches in our community. Our pumpkin patch opens the last week of September and lasts until October 31st or until we run out of pumpkins. During the duration of pumpkin patch we host many community outreach projects. One of these being free field trips for local PreK, K5, special needs, AOA, and nursing home facilites. We also host family pictures in the patch, a blessing of the animals in partnership with the local SPCA, pumpkin palooza, trunk or treat, and more. All of our net proceeds go to Sumter United Ministries, Christian Charities, and beginning in 2024 to a scholarhip for the USC Fireants athletic department. The USC Fireants are a huge piece of our pumpkin patch and we're excited to give back to them. Come see us in the patch and support your local community in many ways.
